Directions to Heaven
GOD’S SALVATION PLAN FOR YOU
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
The Bible tells us that Jesus, God the Son, is in Heaven
preparing a place for all who put their trust in Him.
Jesus says in John 14:2-3
In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
God is holy and perfect. He cannot allow anything in Heaven that is less than perfect, so there's one thing that can never be in Heaven.
Can you think of what that might be?
It is Sin!
Sin is anything you think, say, or do that does not please God,
like lying, cheating, being selfish, or hurting others.
The Bible in Romans 3:23 says:
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
That means everyone, big or little, young or old! No matter where you live or who you are,
you have sinned. Everyone is born with a "want to" to do wrong.
God says that sin must be punished!
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The punishment for sin is to be separated from God in a place of suffering...a place called Hell.
But God has a wonderful plan so that you
will not have to be punished for your sin!
“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” 1Corinthians 15:3-4
Now, because of what Jesus the Perfect Son of God has done for you
- died for YOUR sins
- took YOUR punishment upon Himself
- you can have your sins forgiven.
Read on to see how!
“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name,
He gave the right to become children of God” John 1:12
YOUR SALVATION IS AS SIMPLE AS “A B C”
A = Admit to God you are a sinner and want to turn away from your sins.
B = Believe in Jesus Christ, that He is God's perfect Son who died for your sin,
was buried, and rose again
C = Call on Him to save you from your sin!
Would you like to do that right now?
He has promised to hear, and once you are His child, He will never leave you
Take a moment and talk to God right now.
It will change your life!
Repeat this prayer outloud:
"Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and that I have sinned. I want You to change my life! I believe You can do it because You are the perfect Son of God Who never sinned! I confess my sins right now and ask You to forgive them because of Your death for sin on the Cross. I believe you want to come into my life and be my Savior and my Friend. Please do this right now and I promise to live for You forever! In Jesus Christ's Name, Amen!" When you pray this prayer, you have received Jesus Christ into your life as Savior and Lord! The Next Steps are simple now that you have Jesus indwelling your life with His Presence: 1. Find a Church near your home that will love you and help you grow in Christ 2. Read your Bible daily! Start with the Book of Mark in the New Testament 3. Pray to God like a Friend, He is! If you "mess up" in your spiritual life, don't despair! 4. Confess the mistake or even the sin, accept Jesus' forgiveness and move on in His righteousness! 1 John 1:9 is your promise as a child of God now: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins Like learning to ride a bike, when we fall over we don't leave the bike behind and walk home, do we? No! We get back on the bike and ride again! 5. Claim the promises of Scripture for your new life! Hebrews 13:5 "Never will I leave you; Most importantly, TESTIFY (tell someone else what happened to you!) TESTIFY in FAITH to the FACT that the Bible says you are a new creation in Christ! Your Life is starting over anew!! 2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
to see the Jesus of power for your life!
and purify us from all unrighteousness.
never will I forsake you."
