WHY NEW WINDOWS???
HAGGAI chapter 2 Is a direct command of God to beautify "His House" so that He may take pleasure in it and dwell there.
GOD Himself loves beauty, and when we give our best unto Him, He is pleased!
"...and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD Almighty.
8 ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the LORD Almighty.
9 ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty.
‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty."
The whole book of Haggai is an amazing call to God's People to rethink their priorities. His people are living in nice houses while God's house lies in ruins!
Our church is beautiful, not "in ruins", yet our windows are getting closer and closer!
What could you do to help??
The Church Board has spent time planning with Lynchburg Stained Glass (www.lynchburgstainedglass.com) to replace our single pane windows with double pane stained glass -- each window will have a heavy protective clear glass pane on the outside and the current wooden frames would be wrapped in white metal for preservation.
Each window will have a different life-scene of Christ with an uplifting bible verse to match the art, absolutely stunning from the inside view!

The Crucifixion, The Resurrection, A Miracle, A Teaching, The Compassion of Christ... 8 windows, 8 different life of Christ scenes, 8 different Scriptures below the scene.
We will also replace the two rectangular front porch windows behind the columns and the half circle window above the columns. These also are single pane, cracked and two are unable to close all the way releasing heating and cooling air... badly needing replaced.
Current estimate in 2012: $40,000
1. We will NOT go into debt for these windows but will WAIT until the project is PAID IN FULL before we begin so that there is no pressure on the church for giving.
2. We wish you the honor God with your TITHE FIRST before you give, as this is the Biblical model. Giving for the windows can be:
a. OFFERINGS "as unto the Lord" without name recognition - as one family could give the 1/2 circle window above the columns without recognition! Given as a "pure gift and offering to the Lord"!!
OR
b. MEMORIALS for those we love with names recognized on a simple plaque in the foyer for giving over $1,000.
OR
3. GIVE A GIFT OF A WINDOW for $4,500 without a memorial name! In love for God to restore His House for HIS Glory!
4. If we "go over" by $6,000 we could even replace the 12 single pane windows in the basement with double pane efficiency windows to match the educational wing!
So let us pray the Haggai Prayer, trust in the faithfulness of God, and bring in gifts and memorials to the church to replace the old with the new!
To the glory of God!
